Utah Waivers & Staff Requirements

Waivers Available

Community Supports Waiver

Services for DHHS clients including people with Intellectual Disabilities, Related Conditions and/or Acquired Brain Injury. Services are focused on inclusion and integration in all facets of community life for people with disabilities to safely lead self-determined lives in the community.

Limited Supports Waiver

Services include attendant care, integrated community learning, employment supports, board certified behavior supports, and other behavior supports.

Staff Requirements
Hands-on CPR & First Aid Certification

Community Supports Waiver

Waivers

Supported Living

Support Living Natural provides one-on-one supervision, skills building, and assistance to Persons when the Contractor is not primarily responsible for maintaining the health and safety of the Person. Services will support the Person to live as independent, self-determined lives as possible, integrated into their community.

Caregiver Compensation

Caregiver Compensation provides the Person with one-on-one supervision, skills building, and assistance when the Contractor is primarily responsible for maintaining the Person’s health and safety. Services must support the Person to live as independent, self-determined, and integrated lives to the extent possible in their community.

Homemaker

Assistance with household duties to help maintain a Person’s home in a clean and safe environment.

Companion Services

Companion Services include supervision, socialization, and assistance for a participant to maintain safety in the home and community, and to enhance independence. Companions may assist or supervise the participant with tasks such as meal preparation, laundry, and shopping, but do not perform these activities as discrete services. Companions may also perform light housekeeping tasks that are incidental to the care and supervision of the participant.

Respite

Respite services are intended to be utilized on a short-term basis to provide relief for an unpaid caregiver from the daily burdens of care. Respite includes assistance with personal care and activities of daily living, medication assistance if needed, and supervision.

Host Home

Provides a community integrated shared living setting with a host family providing support and services to adult Persons in a certified private home. The HHS setting is the Person’s primary residence. HHS can include up to 24-hour Direct Care support. Generally, however, HHS is provided for 18 hours on days when a Person is in school, work, or participating in daytime supports, and for up to 24 hours on holidays and weekends.
